COMPOSITE MATERIALS
A TECHNOLOGY POWERING COMPOSITE INNOVATION
Fibroline’s technology enables significant improvements in both the functionalization of reinforcements and the impregnation of polymer matrices. The use of an electrostatic field ensures high-quality impregnation by creating intimate and uniform contact between the fibrous reinforcements and the powder particles.
-
The ranges of compatible powders and reinforcement types make it possible to consider the production dry semi-products — storable at room temperature — such as prepregs, rigid foams, tow pregs, and sandwich panels.
-
The Fibroline impregnation module can be integrated into a production line to allow continuous product transformation, or operate as a standalone unit to produce prepregs that can be stored at room temperature.
Thermosettings:
In many cases, the use of thermosetting matrixes in powder form (epoxy, isocyanates, phenolic compounds, etc.) enables a significant reduction in VOC emissions, both during production and throughout the product’s lifetime. It also simplifies manufacturing and logistics processes compared with solvent-based solutions.

Thermoplastics:
The impregnation process allows to locate powder particles deep within the textile, regardless of their viscosity in the molten state. This greatly facilitates the thermal treatment steps and consequently preserves mechanical properties of the materials (polymers, reinforcements, actives).
AUTOMOTIVE PARTS

HEADLINERS
Thanks to Fibroline solutions, the impregnation of multilayer materials (core materials, reinforcements, surface textiles) can be carried out in a single step. The dry process eliminates the need for solvents and significantly reduces VOC emissions both during production and in the passenger compartment.

DOOR PANELS
Impregnating thermoplastics into nonwoven natural fiber materials enables the production of eco-friendly and recyclable door panels. The process allows for the simultaneous incorporation of several functional agents (fire retardants, blowing agents, odor adsorbents).

TRUNK PARTS
Fibroline offers advantages in the production of composite sandwich panels. The pre-impregnated resin into the skins simplifies assembly with the core material and often eliminates the need for adhesive between the layers.
BALLISTICS

HELMETS
The production of ballistic helmets relies on the impregnation of UHMWPE-HMPE or glass–epoxy unidirectional tapes. Fibroline technology overcomes the challenges posed by the viscosity of high-performance polymers, enabling reduced thermal processing and the preservation of materials and crystalline orientation, and therefore the mechanical performance of the final product.

BODY ARMOR
D-Preg technology is suitable for the manufacturing of dry composite prepregs, with any type of thermoplastic or thermoset powders. Foams, nonwovens or woven fabrics can be impregnated alone to produce prepreg panels, or combined to form sandwich panels.

BALLISTIC PROTECTION PANELS
Composite panels for structural protection help to mitigate damage in the event of an explosion. Depending on the complexity of the geometries and the need to direct the forces, they can be manufactured from unidirectional tapes, made of a thermosetting matrix reinforced with high performance fibers (E-glass, Kevlar, UHMWPE).
OTHER SECTORS

AVIATION
Fibroline’s versatility makes it possible to impregnate structural or non-structural parts with high-performance chemistries (high-temperature, fire-resistant, etc.) for various aeronautical applications.

RAILWAY COMPONENTS
The simultaneous impregnation of flame retardants and a thermoplastic matrix enable the production of lightweight interior panels and structural components with low smoke generation and a reduced environmental impact.

SAILING BOATS
Dry impregnation offers an advantage for the production of robust and durable lightweight composite structures intended for marine applications. The most complex geometries can be manufactures using advanced processes such as AFP (automated fiber placement) from prepregs / pre-impregnated unidirectional tapes.

SPORTS & LEISURE
The wide variety of reinforcement types and matrix systems compatible with Fibroline technologies makes it possible to offer solutions across multiple sectors: impregnation of flax nonwovens for climbing holds, UD tapes for skis, sandwich-structure panels for marine applications, and more.

REINFORCED ELASTOMERS
In many applications, elastomers must be reinforced to compensate their brittleness: tires, conveyor belts, drive belts, flexible hoses, etc. Performance depends on the quality of the reinforcement/matrix interface. This can be improved through dry impregnation with dry-process bonding agents (epoxy, isocyanate, TPE).

ENERGY CONDUITS
Fibroline has developed a dedicated line for the impregnation of unidirectional tapes. These can be used in filament winding or robotic deposition for the production of cylinders or high-pressure gas cylinders or conduits.
