The Business Model

FIBROLINE SPRL is a Belgian Company which owns exclusive licence on the FIBROLINE patents, with rights of direct exploitation and of sub licence.
FIBROLINE SPRL owns also the know how on the process. FIBROLINE SPRL intends to exploit the process in three different ways, depending on the client needs:

by selling licences, exclusive or non exclusive, for particular applications and territories
by making tailor-made impregnation for customers with small or medium volume requirements
by forming joint ventures, for instance for wipes

FIBROLINE is willing to bring to its customers an identified competitive advantage. This is guaranteed by the patents protection, and possibly, based on the customers’ choices, by an exclusive right on the patents for a particular application.

Its sister company FIBROLINE FRANCE SARL is in charge of R&D.

It was created in early 2003 to enhance the capacity of FIBROLINE SPRL in terms of Research & Development.

The global R&D effort of these two companies represents a total amount of about € 7 Million. A part of it has been financed by the French Government agency ANVAR (Agence Nationale pour la Valorisation de la Recherche) which fully supports the company.

Some R&D programs were also sponsored by French or European agencies supporting new techniques improving sustainable growth since 2003.
Both companies as Fibroline [ Belgium ] and Fibroline France SARL as well as the patents belong to a Luxemburg holding company, Material Technics Holding SA.


The patents

The FIBROLINE Process is protected by patent PCT/ IB98/ 01738. This patent was approved by the European Patent office in Munich in February 2001 under Publication Number 1028836. The patent was also approved in 2004 in the USA under Publication Number US 6,733,845 B1. It is now published in all European Countries and in the main industrial countries world-wide.Three new patents have been filed in 2003, four are in preparation .Fibroline is improving constantly its intellectual property protection, in particular with product patents.


How to cooperate with Fibroline ?

The FIBROLINE process leads to improvements in the manufacture of existing products, and also to the creation of new products.

FIBROLINE France is ready to customise the process according to the clients’ requirements (economic, physical, process, etc).

To do so, the company works according the following lines:

FIBROLINE strong belief is: “The better we understand each other, the better the results of our work ». Thus, the first step in our relationship with a customer is the signature of a confidentiality agreement, so that each of us can feel confident, and free to talk.

When technical and economical requirements are clearly understood, FIBROLINE France determines the process parameters adapted to the customer’s product using its laboratory discontinuous units, and delivers samples to the customer.

When these lab samples are technically satisfying, FIBROLINE France can make semi-continuous pilot samples on its pilot facility for further customer’s tests if needed.

Then is organised an industrial scale validation in presence of the customer, on our industrial test facility in Germany (Konstanz).

Once the technical and economical advantages are agreed, then FIBROLINE SPRL can propose to the customer the best business model, and the best type of commercial agreement for the exploitation of the process.
