Applications >Automotive & Transports > Natural fibres felts

Better homogeneity of impregnation thanks to Fibroline leads to better mechanical performances, thus to weight and material costs savings.
Possibility to impregnate the resin without curing it in line (powder instead of liquid resin)
.

Fibroline superiority:

- Possibility to impregnate in a dry way felts thanks to the use of fine powders.
- Fibroline process can lead to raw material and energy savings, and to innovative products.

Fibres:

- Natural fibres (hemp, flax, kenaf, sisal, jute, …)
- Blend of natural and synthetic fibres (PES…)

Weight: 60 to 85%

Resins:

- Epoxy
- Polyester
- Phenolic
- Vinylester

Weight: 15 to 40%

Physical properties (70% fibre weight content):

- Modulus: 4500 MPa
- Water absorption over 24h: 10-12%
- Density: 0,8 g/cm3

Advantages :

- High mechanical properties (depending on the powder content) because of the better distribution of the resin.
- No VOC released during processing thanks to replacement of liquid resin by powder (dry process)
- Possibility to obtain a dry prepreg : nonwoven impregnated, but not cured (binder only thermofixed, material ready to be moulded)

Applications:

- Automotive industry (door panels, headliners, etc)
- Building industry
